THE PIANO PLAYER (aka The Target) Directed By Jean-Pierre Roux Starring Christopher Lambert, Dennis Hopper, Diane Kruger Alex Laney (Christopher LAMBERT) is the piano player, a highly paid hit man whose new job is to protect a powerful and wealthy businessman, Robert Nile (Dennis HOPPER) who bears a certain resemblance to the man who killed his parents. When Alex returns to his hometown of Cape Town to start a normal life he finds himself assigned to protect Robert from fearless mobster Christo Nichol. Alex soon realizes that Robert’s connections to the criminal underworld are deeper than he would care to admit, but he feels obliged to protect both the man he has come to respect and his beautiful daughter, Erika Nile (Diane KRUGER). After an attempt on Robert's life and with Christo out on bail, they are forced to run to the remote village where Robert grew up.
